Gallery Shop Submissions

The gallery shop at Seymour Art Gallery offers unique handmade gifts by more than 60 local artists. We strongly recommend that you visit the gallery shop before you make a submission, so that you can see the space and the items we currently carry.

We are specifically looking for work which is quite different from the pieces already on display. Each of the gallery shop artists has their own unique style and therefore if your work is similar to that of an artist we already carry, it is very unlikely that your work would be selected.

Requirements:

  • All work considered must be handmade by the artist and artists must represent their own work.
  • We do not accept submissions for consumable items for the Gallery Shop, but we do accept submissions for consumable items for our holiday fine craft market Winter Gift Gallery.
  • We welcome applications from all BC artists.
  • While we do not have formal restrictions on the size of artworks, we must consider size when deciding what artworks we will carry due to space limitations at the Gallery.
  • Works on paper must be framed with appropriate hanging hardware.
  • If your work is accepted, it is required that you become a member of the Seymour Art Gallery Society. You do not need to be a member to apply.
  • We ask for exclusivity in Deep Cove; Gallery Shop artists may not sell at other venues on Gallant Avenue in Deep Cove.

2027 Exhibition Proposals
Application Deadline: Friday, October 2, 2026

We are currently accepting online applications for exhibition proposals for Seymour Art Gallery’s 2027 schedule.

We are looking for exhibitions and artwork that will engage visitors and encourage conversation. We strongly recommend that applicants visit the gallery in person and review past exhibitions on our website before submitting.

As a public gallery with a mandate for education and enrichment, Seymour Art Gallery presents at least one program with every exhibition; submitting artists must be willing to present an artist talk or demonstration, or have a suggestion for another program (performance, music, dance, etc) related to their exhibition.

Seymour Art Gallery presents an opening reception, produces printed materials (including posters and invitation cards), and organizes publicity for exhibitions (press release, social media, online listings, and evites) at no cost to the artist(s). As a non-profit gallery, we are pleased to offer exhibiting fees and an honorarium for artist talks, but regret that we do not have a budget for shipping or travel for our exhibitions at this time.
