Livable Deep Cove:

Gallant Avenue Renewal Construction

Construction

Construction in the Cove began in mid-February and is estimated to end in August. During construction, the Seymour Art Gallery and other businesses will remain open and accessible to pedestrians.

On Friday, August 4, lower Gallant Avenue will reopened to vehicles. With the Gallant paving complete, the Naughton Avenue detour will be permanently closed on August 4 and later transformed into a walking path. Crews are installing furniture, laying pavers and completing other final details before completing the Livable Deep Cove project later this month.

Check the District of North Vancouver’s website for real-time updates on the project and how it will affect visiting the Cove, here.

Travelling to the Gallery

If you are taking public transit, you can catch either the 211 Seymour or the 212 Deep Cove from Phibbs Exchange. The bus stop closest to the gallery is the very last stop on both these routes. The gallery is a very short walk from the bus stop. You can plan your trip on Translink’s website here.

If you are driving and the main parking lot on Panorama Drive is full, consider parking in these alternative locations:

  1. Deep Cove Road: on the right hand side before Deep Cove Road turns down into Gallant Avenue.
  2. In the designated Overflow Parking at Myrtle Park: from Deep Cove Road, turn right onto Cliffmont Road, turn right on Caledonia Avenue and follow this into the parking lot. If full, turn right on Banbury Road to access additional Myrtle Park Parking.
  3. On the weekends, visitors can park in either lot of Cove Cliff Elementary School at Banbury Road/Cliffmont Road.
