Deconstruction Invite

District 44 Student Exhibition

Deconstruction Sight, an exhibition in collaboration with Artists for Kids and the North Vancouver School District. This exhibition features work by over 20 students who are enrolled in the Artists for Kids Studio Art Academy at Carson Graham School. Students enrolled in the course develop peak-performance skills and attitudes as well as in-depth exploration of drawing and painting, printmaking and sculpture. The Academy offers classes to a group of students who excel in high school art courses and challenges them with post-secondary level material and experiences. This course allows students to discover communication through visual imagery and to pursue a possible career and lifestyle in the area of fine arts. This collaborative exhibition is an annual event at the Seymour Art Gallery.

Start With Art Invite

Start With Art

Every year, the Seymour Art Gallery becomes a colourful playground full of happy children as the show, Start with Art, rolls in! Start with Art features artwork done by professional artists, but just for kids. Kids can discover art hung at their eye level, profiles of the artists and art activities as well.

This year there are over 15 different artists participating, and their work ranges from drawing and painting to sculpture and doll-making. Established and emerging artists have been eager to support this project with their art and time, because they believe art is important to kids, and they enjoy the children's enthusiasm and energy. You can even purchase one of these masterpieces but there is one catch: you have to be under 16 to buy the art since the prices are kid-friendly too.

Fairies

Start with Art was created by the gallery to introduce kids to original art and artists in a relaxed atmosphere. The first show ran in November 2001 and it is brought back every year by popular demand.
