Beatrice Watson's show will be held from May 17th to May 31st, . Her opening reception will be on May 17th from 5pm to 7pm. Beatrice Watson was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1952 and trained as a teacher. In 1980 she moved to South Africa and two years later she began to paint regularly. In 1985 Beatrice had a solo exhibition at the Nedbank in Johannesburg, and in 1987 she participated in a group show at the Strack van Schyndel gallery. In 1990 she and her family immigrated to Canada. Beatrice now paints in her studio at home in Vancouver. Her work is the painting and drawing of various subjects in watercolors, acrylics and pastels. Through constant experimentation she has discovered her own way and developed her own individual style. Her approach to painting is through intuition and inventiveness. She wants her work to inspire contemplation and to say new things at every viewing.
