President and Curator present to the District Council at District Council Meeting

Jacquie Morgan (curator) and Charles Wilkinson (president), presented to the District Council at a council meeting. Charles introduced himself and the new board to the council. Jacquie highlighted upcoming shows and events at the gallery, encouraging council members to visit the gallery and the gallery shop. Jacquie spoke to the huge (and growing) amount of support the gallery continues to enjoy in terms of both volunteers and a very large and active membership. Board members present at the meeting were Anne Love (vice president), Fariba Dashtaray, Alan Bell and Stuart Ashman.

It is with regret that Linda Spence has stepped down from her position on the board

Linda has been the diligent and concientious treasurer for the gallery as a member of the new board and will be greatly missed. Linda recommended a friend, Norm Godding as a replacement and Norm has graciously accepted to step in as the new treasurer. So a fond farewell to Linda, and a hearty welcome to Norm Godding.


Linda Spence (former Treasurer)

Linda Spence Linda has always had a keen interest in the textile arts and has been an active member of the Greater Vancouver Weavers' and Spinners' Guild for over 20 years and holds an Honorary Life Membership since 2005. During this time she has held many positions including, President 1989 to 1991, Treasurer 1991 to 2008, Scholarship Chair 2008 to present. Linda has also been an active member of the North Shore Needle Arts and has held the position of Treasurer 2004 to present. Her work has been widely exhibited in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Washington,Oregon, and the United Kingdom.
