North Shore Theatre for Children Invite

Puppets - North Shore Theatre for Children

Beginning August 24, 2010 the Seymour Art Gallery will be showing Puppets by the North Shore Theatre for Children. The society was founded in 2004 by a group of puppet theatre professionals and enthusiasts who are willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill their dream: enhance our children's exposure to arts and ignite lasting interest in creative self-expression. They concentrate their efforts on live theatre using puppets animated by actors present and visible on stage with the magic of European style Black Theatre. The North Shore Theatre for Children will be temporarily transported to the Seymour Art Gallery with an exhibition featuring the puppets that are used in their performances. The gallery will come alive with different characters and personalities as it is transformed into a theatrical playground. There will be three mini performances associated with the exhibition at the gallery on Saturday August 28, Saturday September 4 and Saturday September 11. These fun performances consist of a dramatized reading targeted at young children and lasts for 25 minutes. They are a great way for children to experience the theatre in an intimate, interactive setting.
